I have not updated my computer because of old software that works and I don't have a need to spend about $2500 to update all the software just to do the taxes. Apple like to update its OS and Turbo Tax made the decision to make their software to only work on the new OS. Lucky I had a paper copy after 20 minutes somehow the line went dead. Well not that easy I called Turbo Tax support and they saw I purchased the software but couldn't find a key.

The first problem was when I tried to open an old return and it would not open claiming I had to put the purchase code in again. I have used this software since it first was issued and this year was pretty much the first time I had problems. Overall: Its an annual event to file and pay taxes, both Federal and State. I think TurboTax is a great alternative for some businesses that don't want the expense of a personal accountant, and it was really easy for me to get set up on the software and take advantage of it to file early and get those deductions. So it's already basically set up for you, which is a huge convenience and it's as easily as download and go so long as you have Windows software.
TurboTax makes it really easy to import and download information you already have in QuickBooks and from previous returns. So I was able to be satisfied with just the software. So that was really the main reason that I like TurboTax is that it really goes through all of those points, and it's really cheaper than hiring a professional accountant in my case. I also considered H&R Block software, but because I had already used TurboTax for my personal taxes and I was starting up a new business, I was already familiar with the platform and easily transitioned to TurboTax Business software.Īs a startup business, I wanted to make sure that I got all of the deductions that I was entitled to, and TurboTax really walks you through all of the available possibilities and you definitely don't want to leave any stone unturned.
